Fleet and asset tracking

Turn GPS pings into addresses with local time zones, in batches of 10,000, at a price that works for millions of points a month.

The job

Telematics produces coordinates, not addresses. Drivers, dispatchers and customers want "arrived at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave at 9:14 local", not a lat/lng pair in UTC.

How geocode.net fits

  • POST /v1/reverse/batch takes up to 10,000 points per call and returns the nearest address for each, with distance_m so you can tell "at the door" from "on the road nearby".
  • fields=timezone adds the IANA zone of every point, so timestamps can be shown in the vehicle's local time without a second lookup.
  • One unit per point and no daily cap. At $0.50 per 1,000, a fleet logging a million pings a month costs about $500; the Unlimited plan is a flat $299.
  • Results may be stored forever, so you can keep the resolved address on the trip record instead of re-resolving it for every report.
curl -X POST https://api.geocode.net/v1/reverse/batch -H "X-API-Key: YOUR_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"points": [[38.8977, -77.0365], [39.1582, -75.5247]], "fields": "timezone"}'

Geofencing by district or county is the same call with fields=census.
