Put a map on your website.

Free map embed generator. Pin an address or coordinates, pick a style or a 3D globe, then copy an iframe or download a PNG. No API key, no cookies, no Google.

Drag the pin or click the map to move it. The zoom you leave here is the embed's zoom.

Paste it into any page that takes HTML: WordPress, Squarespace and Webflow embed blocks, or your own site.

How it works

Type a US address, paste coordinates from anywhere in the world, or paste a Google Maps link, and the pin lands there. Drag it to fine-tune, give it a label, pick a style, and zoom the preview to the view you want. The embed opens exactly as the preview looks.

  • Embed code is an iframe for any page that accepts HTML. Visitors can pan and zoom it, with Ctrl or ⌘ and the scroll wheel, or two fingers on a phone, so the map never hijacks the page's scrolling.
  • Image is a PNG drawn in your browser, for emails, slides, PDFs and print, where an iframe will not work.
  • Link opens the same map as a full page.

What the embed loads

The whole map lives in its URL:

<iframe src="https://geocode.net/embed?lat=38.897675&amp;lng=-77.036547&amp;label=1600+Pennsylvania+Ave+NW"
  width="100%" height="400" style="border:0" loading="lazy" title="Map: 1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW"></iframe>

Opening it loads one page from geocode.net, the MapLibre map library from Cloudflare's cdnjs, and map tiles from OpenFreeMap. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and makes no geocoding calls: the address was looked up once, here, when you made the map. Nothing on it comes from Google.

Parameter Meaning
lat, lng The pin, and the centre of the map
z Zoom, 0 to 20. Default 15
label Text on a card above the pin, up to 80 characters
style auto (follows the visitor's light or dark setting), bright, muted or dark
view map, or globe for a 3D globe that flies in from space
pin Pin colour as six hex digits, such as 0F172A

You can edit the URL by hand. These parameters are stable, so a map you embed today keeps working.

Licence and credit

The map is drawn from OpenStreetMap data served by OpenFreeMap, and both ask for credit. The embed shows it in the corner and the PNG has it drawn in, so you do not need to add anything. The coordinates come from the geocode.net index, which is built from public-domain data: you may keep them, as with every result from the API.

Notes

  • Free, with no sign-up and no key. Address search runs on the site's shared demo key, a few lookups a minute; pasted coordinates need no lookup at all.
  • Address search covers the United States. Coordinates and Google Maps links work anywhere.
  • Need hundreds of pins? The spreadsheet geocoder maps a whole file of addresses, and the API returns coordinates you can store and plot yourself.
