How it works

Geocode, then point-in-polygon against the Census school district boundaries (unified, elementary and secondary). Districts that do not apply at that address come back null, so a place with one unified district has one entry and a place with separate elementary and high-school districts has two.

Notes

Boundaries are the Census Bureau's; attendance zones within a district are not included.
The GEOID is the seven-digit Census LEA code, which matches NCES district identifiers.
